Maddeck: "we live in a hotel"
Evan: "we live in a compartment"
Miles: "why we have neighvors?'
We downsized from our 3200 square foot home to a 1050 square foot apartment. No wonder Maddeck keeps thinking it is a hotel and Evan thinks it is called a compartment. Evan said that someone was in "our" yard this morning when a man was walking his dog along the sidewalk in front of our apartment. Later he noticed that people were mowing "our" yard as a crew was maintaining the grounds around the apartment building. We are swimming in boxes and clothes. I have never taken so long to get a place organized. I normally thrive on new projects and especially organization. This move is taking it out of me. We have already been in the apartment for over a week and my closet still isn't put away, out desk space is covered in boxes and papers, and we can barely walk through our living room. I packed up eight boxes of things to move to our storage unit because there simply isn't space. With all that said ... I am thankful and blessed. God answered our prayers and provided a buyer for our house, an apartment for us to live in, a storage unit for our belongings, The River Academy for Maddeck, a lot of land that we now own, and provision for all of our needs. We have been given so much on top of the biggest gift of all, forgiveness for our sins through salvation in Jesus.
On a side note, the smoke in our valley has been unbearable. We have taken our fresh air for granted. We even drove to Seattle to breath some fresh air. It made me think of hell. If hell were just a smoke filled place it would be miserable. No reprieve, no quick trip to Seattle for fresh air ... according to scripture hell will be so much more than just a lack of fresh air. It will be the absence of all things that are good. It will be the absence of God, the absence of Life, Light, and Love. Read your bible; trust Jesus. You don't want the alternative.
